What does the checker do that the app does not?
Nothing, if you already have the ingredient list as text. The app reads the label from a photo, which is the part a web page cannot do: you point the camera at the bottle instead of finding and copying the ingredients yourself.
Why does it sometimes not give a verdict?
If too few of the ingredients you pasted are recognized, a "safe" result would be misleading, because the ingredients it could not read might be the ones that matter. In that case the checker shows what it did recognize and withholds the overall verdict. A flagged ingredient is always reported, whatever the coverage, because finding one is a fact that does not depend on reading the rest.
Does it store what I paste?
